About Trend

Trend News Agency is an international news organisation operating from Baku since 1995. We cover political, economic, energy and financial developments across the South Caucasus, the Caspian region and Central Asia, with editorial teams working in three languages — Azerbaijani, English and Russian.

What we do

Each day, Trend's editorial teams produce around 500 news items, analytical materials and sectoral updates across our subject areas — politics and policy, economy and business, oil and gas, banking and finance, transport and logistics, ICT, energy and infrastructure. Specialised correspondents and editorial desks cover Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Iran, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, with additional coverage of South Caucasus and global stories that bear on the region.

Premium products

Alongside our open news feed, Trend produces a range of subscription-based analytical products: country and sector reports, oil-and-gas and energy-market monitoring, banking and financial analytics, and dedicated bulletins for diplomatic missions, government institutions, corporate decision-makers and major media partners.

BIPSN — our think tank

In 2015 Trend established the Baku International Policy and Security Network (BIPSN), an independent think tank bringing together more than 40 Azerbaijani and international experts — academics, former diplomats, security specialists and regional analysts — whose work informs Trend's longer-form analytical coverage.
