Turkmenistan will study international textile market opportunities in an effort to use present-day marketing methods more actively and create a more flexible pricing system, Turkmen President Gurbanguli Berdimuhammedov said at a governmental meeting.
Ashgabat has invested millions of dollars in developing the textile industry in recent years.
The Turkmen textile industry has developed on the basis of cotton processing in the country.
The cotton harvest is expected to hit one million tons in 2009.
"We must strengthen partnership ties and cooperate with our own businessmen," Berdimuhammedov said.
The Textile Industry Ministry reported on its financial situation at the meeting.
