BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 14. Another group of former internally displaced persons (IDPs) reached Khankendi city and Karkijahan settlement today, receiving house keys.
This was reported by the Public Relations Department of the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in Khankendi city, Aghdara, and Khojaly districts.
According to the report, the keys to the new apartments of 22 families consisting of 102 people who were relocated to the city as part of the Great Return program were presented to their owners.
Deputy Executive Director of the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in Khankendi city, Aghdara and Khojaly districts, Mahmud Afandiyev, spoke at the ceremony of welcoming former IDPs and presenting the keys to the apartments, congratulating the residents on their return to the native lands and wishing them happiness and prosperity in their new lives.
Afadiyev provided information on the large-scale restoration and reconstruction work carried out in Khankendi. He noted that within the Great Return program implemented under the leadership of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the former IDPs continue returning to their native lands in stages.
During the ceremony, it was noted that all necessary conditions have been created in Khankendi for the comfortable and safe life of the returning residents. In addition to residential buildings, social and communal infrastructure is also being reconstructed in the city.

According to the report, previously, families returning to their homeland temporarily settled in various regions of the country, mainly in dormitories, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings.
At this stage, 22 families (102 people) are being relocated to Khankendi city.
