BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 15. The Kazakh government has approved a Joint Action Plan for the development of the digital asset industry.

This was announced in a statement published by the press service of the Kazakh government.

According to the press service, the plan includes 65 measures across 10 areas and is aimed at expanding the use of digital assets in the economy.

"The measures are expected to support the investment attractiveness of the sector and the development of a competitive digital asset industry," the statement said.

“The National Bank, together with government agencies, should ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of the measures envisaged by the presidential decree on promoting and developing the digital asset industry. I emphasize the personal responsibility of each head for achieving specific results,” Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov said.

Implementation of the plan is expected to help bring capital back into Kazakhstan's transparent financial system, expand the use of digital assets for payments and financing the real sector, create new investment instruments, strengthen the protection of clients' and investors' rights, and develop exports of digital financial services.

The National Bank will coordinate the work and monitor the implementation deadlines.

During the meeting, it was also noted that Kazakhstan plans to explore the use of digital financial instruments in international settlements. It was emphasized that Kazakhstan should create its own digital products and train specialists for the industry. Kazakhstan plans to develop a full-fledged digital mining industry. The Prime Minister instructed to expand the use of the digital tenge. Bektenov instructed the relevant authorities to step up efforts to ensure cybersecurity.

Bektenov also instructed to expand the use of real-world asset tokenization to attract additional capital to the economy.
